As part of its mission to promote and strengthen press freedom around the world, the World Press institute sponsors various programs for journalists. Some of these programs are described below.
Transparency Reporting
WPI offers a two-week Transparency Reporting Seminar for 10 journalism practitioner/teachers. The seminars are free to those selected to participate. Candidates must be fluent in English, be fulltime teachers with extensive professional journalism experience, or fulltime professional journalists who also teach skills courses to students or who are responsible for training where they work.
World Press Institute Fellowship
WPI offers a fellowship for 10 journalists from countries around the world. The WPI program provides immersion into the governance, politics, business, media, journalistic ethics and culture of the United States for experienced international journalists, through a demanding schedule of study, travel and interviews throughout the country.
WPI News Network
We bring together over 150 journalists from more than 55 countries who can act as resources or free-lance writers.
