Silvio Gramajo is Research Coordinator for Asociación DOSES and General Editor for Sala de Redacción Magazine. DOSES is an NGO that does research on the role of the media outlets in the democratic process in Guatemala. He has been a professor in several universities of: Introduction to Communication, Mediums of Communication, Journalistic Genre, Journalistic Source Seminar, Public Opinion and Thesis I. He is a former Director of the Communicational Sciences Department and Member of the Faculty of Humanities Council at Rafael Landívar University, and he coordinated the Curricular Reform Process for this department. During the previous six year, he was a reporter for Crónica Magazine covering political topics and a reporter for Prensa Libre newspaper covering National Congress. He has a Licentiate in Communication at Rafael Landívar University, Guatemala, and a Masters Degree in Communication in Iberoamericana University, México. Both theses received honorary mention. Mr. Gramajo has given conferences about access of information in Guatemala, México and Puerto Rico. Author of The access to Information, a topic pending in the democratization process of Guatemala, in the Revista Iberoamericana de Comunicación, Published by the Graduate Program of the Iberoamericana University, México, and of The Right of Access to Information: analysis of the discussion and management process in Guatemala (Summary available at: http://www.revistaprobidad.info/23/index.html). He also participated in the making of a proposal for the framework of the Law of Access to Public Information for Latin America, organized by UNESCO in San José, Costa Rica. |
