Stranger in Berkeley

If you are a foreigner and visit a city in US for the first time, standing on the street with a map in hands, you may feel surprised as well as happy if someone unknown walks by, saying ‘may I help you’.

That was what I had experienced 6 years ago when I visit Berkeley, CA.

Ralph, a stranger in Berkeley who met me on downtown Berkeley, became one of my best friends. His thoughts and living philosophy to me are almost the spirit of Berkeley.

Chinese orphans on the farm of Tracy

I've learned every year China imports a lot of corn and soybean from America. It is still a controversial topic in China because of the relation to GMO.

Meanwhile, I've read some reports on American families' adopting Chinese orphans. However, I've never seen a Chinese orphan in a American family myself until I got the farm in Tracy.

When I saw a Chinese boy toddled on the lawn in Dennis', I had not realized the little boy has congenital heart diseases because he looked so active.

Mr. Dennis, a farmer in Tracy, invited us to have dinner on last Sunday night.

The animals in my neighborhood

The animals in my neighborhood
You might say that animals such as squirrels and rabbits are residents' neighbors or parts of people's life in University of St. Thomas. However, as a newcomer who has just stayed in St. Paul for a week, I can't help stopping to watch or have a photo shoot again and again when the animals bump into my sight.
